1)Introduce yourself, describe yourself as a player and person.
I am Carter Dereniwsky I play hockey for the Yorkton Rawtec Maulers. I play a very offensive game and prefer to have puck control. I see myself as a play maker with a good hockey sense.
2)Who were some of the people/player you idolized growing up?
My idol are my parents because they were always there for me and my brother. They did whatever was needed for our hockey development.
3)Playing Midget this year, what pushed you to make that decision as a player?
I decided to make the jump to midget because I wanted to challenge myself as much as possible. I felt this would be the best option because I get to play in one of the best leagues in western Canada while staying close to home.
4)Having an older relative playing on your team this year, what are some of the things that he has taught you and how would you describe your relationship?
With my older brother being the captain of the team it was definitely easier to adapt and feel comfortable around the other guys. Playing with him has made us closer. It has been good for our hockey because we are super competitive so we push each other to the limits. My brother plays more of a defensive game which I need to improve on.
5)What are some of the things you are hoping to take away from this season?
I am hoping to come out of this season more of a 200 foot player. I want to continue to develop all my hockey skills and become a stronger player.
