The road to the Inter Pipeline Cup began last Thursday in the North Division with the Bonnyville Pontiacs hosting the Whitecourt Wolverines, the Drayton Valley Thunder taking on the Spruce Grove Saints, and the Fort McMurray Oil Barons and Grande Prairie Storm battling it out way up north.
The North Division was close all season long with no team having too much of an edge over the other. Round one was no different.
Fans were treated with great displays hockey with each series having its own unique storylines, but one thing that was consistent throughout was how competitive each game was night in night out.
Now, with what we were given in round one, round two should be even more exciting with the Sherwood Park Crusaders now in the mix following their first-round bye. However, before we get ahead of ourselves let’s take an in-depth look at each first-round series.
