Report: Finishing the season with 28 points in 36 regular season games with the Southwest Cougars. Turner has consistently become more confident this past season, looking to push the limitations to his game more and more. Turner displays a combination of a technical puck moving game and quick processing abilities. He’s a smooth skating defenseman with fluid mobility, his legs are still scrawny but lengthy. The impressive attribute to his game is how quickly he can distribute pucks off of his stick, he displays good heads up puck sense to snap passes up ice as soon as it touches his stick or carry through traffic. Turner proficient in defending the rush, he’s manages the gap and contains with strong stick positioning. Capable of blocking shots with long legs that take away passing lanes and willingness to take a shot to keep the puck out of his own net. He’s rarely panics with the puck on his stick and delivers passes with fast timing. Looks to activate into soft spots in the offensive zone, putting himself in a spot to effectively receive and quickly snapping a puck on net, using such to play on the right/left side of the power play. Overall Turner is a fleet-footed defenseman with top notch speed and he displays a good feel for the game. There a lot to like about his game like his athleticism and how he wastes no time transitioning the puck up ice. Needs to work on his puck discipline and positioning in his defensive end. High upside to his game.
