Game Report: Nov 7 – SSAC vs CAC Bantam AAA

Last week, the SSAC Innovation Physio Lions and the CAC Lehigh Cement went head to head in the AMBHL. SSAC came up victories with a 3-1 win over CAC to move to 6-2-2 in the Nitro North Division while CAC fell to 2-5-5.

Here are a few players that stood out on the ice:

#12 Zach Coutu – SSAC Bantam AAA

Zach Coutu was hands down the best player on the ice last night. He was first to the puck on almost every occasion showing off his speed and acceleration. You can see from the way he moves the puck that he reads the came on another level. Many times, Coutu created chances for his teammates, putting them in prime scoring positions. Defensively, his stick was very active in his end knocking the puck off his opponents’ blades or getting it in the way of shots.

#15 Easton Hewson – CAC Bantam AAA

Easton Hewson let his presence be known on the ice last night handing out two monstrous hits that sent a couple of South Side players to the ice.  His physically ramped up the intensity for his teammates, giving them an extra boost for spurts of the game. Offensively, Hewson did a good job on the blueline getting pucks to the net and with those came some second chance opportunities.

#9 Joel Green – SSAC Bantam AAA

Joel Green chipped in which two goals important goals in the 3-1 win over CAC. His first was a heavy slapshot through a crowd to make it 2-1. He then secured the win in the third period in tight on the CAC netminder. What impressed me the most was his work on the penalty kill. He put relentless pressure on the opposing team, forcing them into turnovers and out of the zone more often than not. Green showed a lot of this kind of aggression throughout the game.
