REPORT: Brother of Vancouver Canucks prospect Kole Lind. Kalan Lind had had 120 points in 27 games this past season as well as two points in nine Midget games with the Legionairres. Lind is a very dynamic forward who can beat you in a lot of ways when engaged. He’s a good skater that has quick feet and a high end top speed. Can change direction quickly and is tough for defenders to stick on for long. Has good size so he can also play a power game and simply over power defenders. Battles hard along the boards, in front of the net and for loose pucks. Really high hockey IQ that he uses to make high end passing plays to generate scoring chances, fake out defenders and find the soft spots in the defense. Silky smooth hands that he uses to avoid stick checks and make goalies look foolish. Has a quick release with power behind it that gives most goalies fits. Is also a good 200-foot player who can shutdown most players when he wants to. Lind likes to engage in the physical side and tries his best to get under the opponent’s skin. Puck carriers definitely have to keep their head up when he’s on the ice but he can be undisciplined at times taking bad penalties or losing focus. Lind has the potential of being a cornerstone player to the organization that picks him, a player that can drive his own line and finish chances on his own. Possibly like Cole Sillinger if he can improve his discipline.
