Player Profile: Reid Andresen

NAME: Reid Andresen

TEAM: Saskatoon Generals  (SBAAHL)

HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 5’7/125lbs

HAND: Left

Andresen raised his stock in the latter half of the season with a skillful mindset and offensive production that added up to see him put up 51 points this past season. Andresen is a great skater who has really fast feet and is very shifty. Good top end speed and is tough to keep track of with how fast he can change directions. When he’s playing with confidence, he likes to rush the puck up ice and is more aggressive moving the puck. He uses his skating to keep good gaps and has an active stick. He is a little undersized though so can be overpowered by bigger players. We love how natural he walks along and off the blue line, his pivoting and edgework is superior to others in this draft, and it makes him such an effective puck transitioner both ways. Also, with his size, he doesn’t have the greatest shot but does do a good job using is to create high danger rebounds. He’s a really good puck distributor and is a very effective PP QB from the back end. Has good hockey IQ that he uses to create a lot of high danger chances for his teammates due to high-quality passes. Is decent in the defensive zone when he’s able to get to the puck first and use his skating to elude attacking players but has trouble against the cycle. Similar to Tyson Jugnauth from last year in terms of skating and skill set.
