Eastman Selects: (7)
#19 Carlos Penner (Defense): This player checks a lot of boxes that you want to see in a young defenseman. Good size, heads up player who uses his partner and teammates well. Great gap control in all three zones. Good shot from the point and nice passes all over the ice. Nice offensive pinches. Physical in front of his net, clearing away players.
#9 Avery Laliberte (Defense): Good vision, sees the ice well. Nice ability to use the wall on the breakout of his zone. Good gap control and showed good positioning on a couple 2 on 1s. Lots of offensive awareness jumps into play quick.
#18 Logan Dearborn (Defense): Made some solid defensive plays in the neutral zone and own end. Good stick in his own end. Versatile and had three blocked shots.
#16 Easton Gaffray (Forward): Had lots of jump and a high work rate for lots of the game. Three hits by a heavy fore-checker with a willingness to be the first responder creating a goal for himself and an assist. Also showed the awareness to be the F3 high guy as center man in offensive zone.
#13 Ashton Cure (Forward): High compete level, lots of battle. Created offense for his team by being strong on the puck. Had a goal and assist.
#5 Jeremiah Warkentine (Forward): Controls puck well. Slows down the play to his liking and makes good decisions offensively. Was hard on the fore-check and had a couple of good cycle shifts with his line mates.
Interlake Lightning: (2)
#2 Farrington (Defense): This player is 2007 born but lead the way for Interlake all game. He had a handful of nice hits. Showed good battle all around the ice. Nice shot from the point.
#13 Farthing (Forward): Had a couple nice offensive dangles. Showed a nose for the net.
#22 Kazorwoski (Forward): Showed good offensive instincts and no quit during a lop sided game.
#30 Myas (Goalie): Played first half of the game and faced a lot of shots and held it close for a while. Showed decent movement to get around screens and a quick glove hand. A few rebound goals got past him.
