Saint George’s:

# 13 Jordan Gavin (Froward): Jordan Gavin will probably one of the most watched players this year in the CSSHL. Being to top 06 scorer last year in the prep devision. Gavin played on the first line with Louie Sim and Hirocki Gojsic. Jordan scored a great goal from a turn over created by Miguel Marques. Jordan is a smooth and technical skater that has a strong sense for scoring goals. Saint however struggled with finding chemistry, but we know this will change as the players develop as a team.

# 8 Miguel Marques (Forward): Miguel is one of those undiscovered gems. Miguel has speed, incredible vision – and hockey sense. I think his over play will make him one of the best forwards that we will see in this years WHL draft. Miguel is on the first power play unit for that reason. Vision for the game and he will be one of the guys Saint are counting on for points and games.

# 11 Charlie Michaud (Center): From Colorado USA – Known for being one of the best defenseman on the 06 Vipers team, it was interesting to see Charlie taking on the role of center on the Saints 3rd line. Charlie had one goal and for me stood out as the best centre in this game. He won 80% of his face offs and reads the game exceptionally well. Charlie plays a fearless game at speed and add that to his high skill level, he will be running up the draft list.

# 23 Ethan Riml (Defence): Ethan played on the West Van Varsity team last year and made a move to Saints when West Van closed down. Saint can thank their lucky stars that they picked up this player. Ethan is strong and has a heavy shot. He has a smooth skating style (even though he fell twice that caused a breakaway and goals) Ethan will be a defenceman that forwards will notice when he is on ice, because he hits and he hits hard. Looking forward to seeing his development this year and to see how he moves up in the WHL Draft.

# 1 Angeo Basson (Goalie): Angeo is known as one of the top goalies in the 2006 age group. He plays a very strong positional game with a lot of control over rebounds and plays around the net. Angeo is one of the fastest goalies in the net for this age group. Even though he had 6 goals against him, 4 of them came from breakaways. He stopped another 3 breakaways. With 41 shots faced, it shows that he will be a goalie that Saint will depend on to keep them in games. Nice to see that he has grown 5’11 – Size in net matters.

Yale Lions

# 28 Keith McInnis (Defense): The best player in this game. Keith stood out above the rest and it was easy to see why is ranked nr.3 in current WHL Draft. He is strong and physical with a heavy shot and a lot of determination. I was so impressed by this player. His decision making was remarkable and he made sure that the forwards from Saints knew when he was on the ice. Keith will be one of the top picks in this year WHL draft.

# 22 Nick Scott (Forward): Nick Scott comes from Vancouver Island and he made sure that everyone knew that he was on the ice. Nick had about 10 hits and his physical play caused turnovers that turned into breakaways and goals. He had a goal and an assist, but stood out as the top forward on the Yale team. Nick is big and strong and he uses his strength to muscle the puck away from the opponents. He is not the fastest skater but when he has the puck its hard to get from him. We see you Nick.

# 18 Richardson, McCarthy(Froward): Moving over from Delta White last year to Yale this year must feel great for Mac. Even though last year was a hard year, you can clearly see how Mac developed as a player. He is fast and he has size. Mac had 3 assists in this game because of his great positional play and read off the game. Mac will be a forward Yale is going to depend on in this season.

# 50 Ethan Eskit (Goalie): Ethan is a goalie with tremendous potential. He plays with a lot of confidence and the players noticed it. He made a few big saves with his fantastic glove hand. Even though he only faced 30 shots, Ethan is one of the reason why Yale walked away with the victory.
