Since the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, the Alberta Junior Hockey league has had five players selected including two first round picks in back-to-back years in Cale Makar (4th overall Colorado Avalanche) and Jacob Bernard-Docker (23rd overall Ottawa Senators). Mackenzie Harden moves to AJHL Champs

The Spruce Grove Saints announced via Twitter that Mackenzie Harden (99) had joined the organization from the Whitecourt Wolverines in exchange for a Player Development Fee and future considerations.
